AUTHOR - RODA LANGRANA

One evening as I sat idle shortly after I had finished writing my book MasterMind I casually walked over to my desk to pick up something to read. The book that I did pick up was Dasturji Kanga's book on the Gathas.  Where and when did I buy this book I do not remember for I am fond of picking up books on Zoroastrianism whenever I get the opportunity to do so though I would never classify myself as a scholar of any sort. I have always felt the need to save knowledge of our religion for future young generations and this work that I have undertaken is for their benefit. The present generation thinks in English so it is important to have the essence of our religion in English so that our future generations do not stray from the religion for want of inspiration in their own religion.   And the thought that flashed through my mind instantly is that I'm never going to be able to write on this. I idly glanced through a few pages and promptly put it back deciding firmly that this was way beyond me. In fact the language at first frightened me a bit for it seemed a bit strict. But the book would not leave my thoughts and many a times I picked it up and many a times I put it back. But go back to it again and again I did as how can I a mere mortal refuse divine intervention. And then I prayed to Ahura Mazda to be by my side when I undertook this task and after I did that all of the words miraculously began to make sense to me and I found it truly easy to rewrite the words in a little more simpler format in keeping with our times. As I undertake my task  I would now go so far as to say I thoroughly enjoy and understand their essence. It has suddenly taken on a new meaning for I now no longer look on it as work .. more a labour of love. I understand the promise that Ahura Mazda makes to me through the words .. of complete health , wealth and happiness. He promises me protection from harm, his constant love and watching over me. The comfort one may derive from all all of this must be felt to be understood.
I urge you, my readers to take to reading these verses. Join me on my journey as I complete this work.
If you follow this blog you will receive an update as I add more to what is already written. As with all learning one reading is never enough.... you need to read them again and again. Its like this first you will get the over all gist, then paras have a meaning, then sentences and then single words begin to make their presence felt. When you reach there you have arrived at your destination ... a true mastermind. Don't ever let wrong thinking prevent you from arriving at your destination.
